i just noticed something(near the ending of gow)

    Posted: 16 Jun 2021 06:48 AM PDT

when they show the prophecy in the walls, they actually showed atreus walking with 2 wolves on his side.this could potentially be skot and hati, children of fenrir.(next to the big scrren showing 'kratos' dead).also kratos was not with atreus in that pic,so either he was on a different journey or...you know.

i dont know if this was mentioned before, but when i revisited jotunheim,i noticed this and got excited and decided to share it here.

    52 Odin’s Ravens

    Posted: 16 Jun 2021 03:34 AM PDT

So idk if this was already mentioned but I got the trophy and completed the labor when I killed 51 ravens. However, I was still 42/43 ravens in Midgard.

I thought it may have been related to the very end of the game since I was almost there, but nope, the last, last raven missing was located at Stone Falls. So I killed it, and then Midgard said 43/43 ravens… but, I had already gotten the trophy so…

Everyone keeps referring to the next God of War game as "Ragnarok," but I don't think that will be the actual subtitle and here's why (spoilers for God of War 2018)

    Posted: 16 Jun 2021 09:57 AM PDT

So ever since the teaser for this next game where they said "Ragnarok is coming," everyone just started referring to this sequel as Ragnarok by default. However, that has never actually been confirmed as the official subtitle, and I don't think it will be in the end.

First of all, are people really expecting this Norse era to just span 2 games rather than 3? Because you can't have Ragnarok as the middle entry in a trilogy imo, there's no way to escalate higher from there for a 3rd game. Trilogies are what humans gravitate to in storytelling and it's also what makes the most financial sense for PlayStation, since soft rebooting God of War again so soon will take a lot more time, enemy, and money than capitalizing on the very popular formula/world of GoW 2018 for another two entries.

Secondly, from a narrative standpoint, jumping straight from where the first game ends to Ragnarok would make no sense. In the mythology, Fenrir, Hel, Odin, Thor, Tyr, Surtur, Freyr, etc. are all major players in Ragnarok, and all of those characters are people we've only gotten references to in the first game (aside from Thor's miniscule cameo).

We need to have all these people introduced in person and have relationships built up between them. We need more of a direct reason to hate Odin and Thor than just hearing stories of what dicks they are. We need to see Loki have some sort of relationship with Odin and Thor. We need to see Hel, Surtur, and Fenrir in some capacity rather than just magically appearing for the final battle. We need some sort of explanation about how Loki is the parent of Fenrir, Hel, and Jormungandr. We probably need to see an older, more villainous version of Loki via the time travel shenanigans they hinted.

Jumping straight to Ragnarok without doing the necessary narrative legwork would totally rob it of any emotional payoff.

So where does that leave us for the sequel? Well, I think the game will take place at the tail end of Fimbulwinter and we'll get to explore all the realms EXCEPT for Asgard, which will be saved for the third game. I think we'll see Kratos and Loki cross paths with Hel, Surtur, and Fenrir, perhaps coming into conflict with them first, before forging an alliance against their shared enemies, the Aesir (given that in the mythology, Loki captains a ship of the Dead and leads the armies of Hel, Muspelheim, and Jotunheim, plus Fenrir and Jormungandr, against Asgard).

Then in the third game we'll finally get Ragnarok proper where we'll get all the requisite showdowns that are destined to happen and we'll finally get to visit Asgard.

    What do you all think?

    (spoilers) so about Krato's family

    Posted: 16 Jun 2021 01:05 AM PDT

I've only played 3 and the PSP spinoffs. How is the world serpent Arteus' son? I know he's meant to be Loki lore-wise, but he's a child in the games, and the world serpent seems older than him, is he a reincarnation or something? And how did Kratos end up where he is - is it a new realm or did he just hop in a boat and row to Scandinavia?

People say either Triple H, Jason Momoa, or Big show should play Kratos in a live action God Of War. But what about this guy Simeon Panda?!
