Loki's role in the next game

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 09:52 AM PDT

What are your guys thoughts on Atreus / Loki's role in the next game?

I personally don't want to have him fighting alongside Kratos again. I'd rather free up the square button for something else that Kratos can do for himself.

With all the talk of family, curses and cycles, I want Loki to start morphing into the villain he's almost guaranteed to be. Split off from Kratos, trying to make his own way. I also want him to steal the Blades of Chaos because I can't think of a better weapon for the God of Mischief than those. Or maybe that's Freya's real revenge, binding your cursed weapon to your son.

    What do you guys think?

    God of War: Ascencion

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 03:03 AM PDT

Dusted off my ps3 recently and just got a copy of the game and holy shit this game is brutal, intense and amazing.

First time playing it an loving it so far, I'm on hard difficulty and it's f*cking intense. The graphics are great and impressive for a ps3 game, combat is a bit repetitive but satisfying enough to push through the next level, the environments are huge and gorgeous, kills are gory, brutal and flashy etc.

My only gripe so far is the crashes here and there becuase my ps3 slim can't handle it lol. Suffice to say I'm loving every second of it and the game is fast paced enough to make me finish it

Straight Outta Alfheim. (GMGOW, Fist/shield, 1st playthrough)

Thought it would be interesting to try to answer this! Anyone who can take the time to spare a few minutes from their valuable time, it would truly mean a lot to me! Definitely not required though! Thanks for stopping by! :)

This passage from the Lore & Legends book has me hype for Ragnarok

Is it worth it going for a luck based build ?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2021 02:34 AM PDT

I'm thinking about another playthrough right now and i was wondering if it actually makes a difference to wait opening chests and and leave loot behind so that i can pick it up later with higher luck. Also if it's worth it does loot dropped by larger enemies / bosses stay there or should I pick it up immediately because it despawns?

Are we most OP in the first game?

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 10:54 PM PDT

I am currently replaying the first game, and I have been wondering. I am not talking about Kratos's canonical power. I am thinking in terms of gameplay.

In the entire series the first game is the one I played the most, maybe this is why I feel like this version of Kratos is the most powerful.

Wings of Icarus in the second game do give significant advantages, but I think there is a reason why we did not get Hermes Rush (R1) after the first game. That move is a total game changer. Then there is L1 + O which could easily be it's own spell, and it is in Ascension.

In the third game, we got the item bar, which made it possible to spam specific weapons, but these too feel more like utility rather than life savers.

In Ascension Kratos feels straight up neutered.

I can't talk about Chains of Olympus or Ghosts of Sparta as I have played them only once and I can barely remember.

What do you guys think? Did they make us a bit too strong in the first game then realized that they need to dial it back? Did I just master the first game's moveset?

PS.: I wish there was a way to use Blade of Artemis in other games. :D

I’m sorry but the God of War: Fallen God comic was booty cheeks

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 06:25 PM PDT

Spoilers beware, although there is nothing to spoil.

The story added nothing to the lore or Kratos's character or the God of War universe. The story was essentially Kratos kills a hippo. They could have just shortened the four issues and made it one page literally saying "Kratos kills a giant hippo" and you would take away everything from the story literally.

I know it isn't Sony's or Santa Monica studios fault. I blame dark horse comics. They mishandled the franchise. Santa Monica and Sony could have gave it to someone else's who would handle the property with better care. The comic felt like a quick cash grab with its creators just milking God of Wars popularity for a quick buck. And worst of all it's canon. Which is not a big deal because it literally adds nothing or takes away anything from the franchise. The four issues are literally pointless. It taught us nothing we didn't know about the characters and the universe. I guess we learned that the Egyptian Pantheon exist but I think everyone already suspected that lol.

I'm sorry if my judgment on the comic was kind of harsh but I was expecting something much more than "I'm tired! Okay now I'm going to listen to this old man and kill a hippo."

Am I wrong in my judgement? Did I miss something in my read? I mean they aren't even planning to release a volume #2. Just those four issues. What a waste in my opinion.

Edit: There is also no character development for Kratos no. Not even a small bit. He's the same Kratos from the beginning of the comic that he is at the end.

    Does he do it?

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 07:41 PM PDT

I'm replaying and just witnessed another scene where Kratos almost puts his hand on Atreus' shoulder but retracts at the last second.

I can't find a solid answer on google, but does Kratos ever do it? He calls him son, but does he finally follow through and show that affection? I've played through 3 or 4 times and don't remember.
