Theory: Tyr has traveled to at least Egypt and the North-European islands (UK and Ireland). Credits to u/Thicco_Thomper17 and u/andreisporis for reaserch help and inspiration.

We've heard from Mimir that Tyr was someone who traveled to other lands/whatever you wanna call the other civilizations. We know for sure he has traveled to Greece because that's where Mimir got his knowledge about it from, but with these 2 tables full of artifacts we can also know he's been to Egypt and the Islands. (Edit here, I forgot to say this can be found in Tyr's secret chamber)

In the following picture we can see a table with Egyptian, Greek and Norse artifacts (if you're wondering what the Greek and Norse ones are, it's the Owl of Athena coin and the war axe respectively). The Egyptian artifacts we can depict are the ankh symbol object, the typical papyruses and, the most interesting one in my opinion, the Khephir little statue (the scarab/beetle circled in red). This little boy, in the ancient Egyptian mythology, symbolizes "creation and resurrection", and is known to be the one of the "path of ascension". It pretty much relates to Kratos too but we know it's Tyr's either way.

    Egyptian artifacts

On the other hand, or may I say table (pic below), we find what seems to be a "sgian dubh" of Celtic/Irish origin, circled in red. We can also see another Owl of Athena coin which we've already talked about. Next actual interesting object is the semi-circular thing that looks like some sort of headset but obviously isn't. Apparently it's a "torc" and after some research I'm not sure if it's Irish or Viking (I found a pic that suggests it's Viking (https://imgur.com/oh0AsoL) but maybe it's just some loot they stole in a raid from the Irish, cause torcs are originally from there) but they both would make sense since one is the travel destination and the other one is the homeland of Tyr. At last, on the bottom right corner of the table, we can see a case with things in it. I couldn't find out what the thing on the left is (would appreciate feedback if someone does know) but I did find out that the bright coin on the right is a coin from England, most exactly from the time of King Athelred II (here's a comparison: https://imgur.com/gallery/WyRBMr4).

    Northern Islands artifacts

Any feedback and correction on this will be much appreciated and thanks for reading, I hope it makes sense and it doesn't just sound like a whole lot of weird spells.

    Idea for new Rule

I feel as if this place has become God of War (2018) and not just God of War. So that's why I have a petition idea.

When trying to find a sound that fills you with the most dread

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 12:36 PM PDT

Was it just me who thought this game might be a reboot for like the whole first 1/3?

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 11:56 AM PDT

I just wanna know if anyone had the same experience as me, and if it was intentional or not.
So, I didn't look up a whole lot of interviews or PR for GOW 2018 before it dropped. Did they ever EXPLICITLY state pre-launch that this game is a full-on continuation of Kratos' story?
To clarify, I remember when the first trailer dropped, everyone was confused as hell. "Is this a reboot?" "Is this the same Kratos, or a retconned/reworked version?" People didn't really know what the game was at the time.
Since I didn't pay much attention to PR and didn't have that question answered for me before I started up the game, the whole first 1/3 or half of the game was super mysterious and interesting, as they slowly revealed the deep connections this game had with the original trilogy. They kept the Blades hidden away, they didn't mention Athena or any Greek stuff until pretty far into the narrative... so I guess I'm just wondering, was this subversion/mystery intentional on the part of the developers (that GOW isn't a reboot or alternate story, but instead effectively "God of War 4" within the series), or was this all cleared up before launch and I just didn't catch it?

Gods I would like to see in a Sequel

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 02:23 AM PDT

This is counting with Thor more than confirmed for the sequel.

    Aesir:

Heimdallr - I would like to fight him but probably when arriving Asgard to possibly "save Atreus".

Ullr - A god associated with archery would be interesting and... the dynamic of the fight would be cool!

Hoor - The Blind God would be curious because in the original mythology was "him" who killed Baldur.

    Vanir:

Frey - He wasn't in Alfheim but we made a lot of things there so... he knows Kratos was there.

Njord - I want a Poseidon fight level with another god of seas "I already killed one like this".

Freyja - May we already fight her in the sequel or only in a third game?

I hope you liked it and comment who do you want to fight Kratos!
    Let's discuss.

    NINJA KRATOS !!!

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 09:48 AM PDT

Atreus inherited powers from Zeus (theory)

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 05:25 PM PDT

It's well known that Atreus is Kratos' son, which makes Zeus his grandfather. Therefore, sharing certain genes, we can relate this to some moments in the game where Atreus shows hints of having similar powers to Zeus.

I could identify three of them but there might be more, and they don't follow a chronological order.

First of all, I recall when Modi is electrifying Kratos with his mace, Boi gets angry and he summons something similar to the spartan rage, but he doesn't control it properly and falls down ill. Well, while Kratos takes him to Freya and starts his journey to Hel with the blades of chaos, we can see a grim environment, accompanied by a sky similar to the one we saw in Greece after killing Zeus in GOW3. What Atreus provokes to the weather is less harsh than what Zeus did since he's not passing away but he's pretty close to it.

Another one of the similarities is quite well known and it's related to when Atreus complains about Sindri and Brok's constant shit throwing at each other. As we hear Boi speaking, we hear thunders at the same rhythm as he gets angrier. I think there's no need to explain the relation with Zeus here.

The last one I can reckon (probably the most ambiguous one too) is after Atreus finds out he's a god and starts asking questions to his father about what kinda powers he could have. He mentions shapeshifting as one of the possibilities, and Kratos challenges him to surprise him. Despite this being one of Loki's powers too, if we remember the previous trilogies we've seen Zeus in the forms of a gravekeeper and an eagle so he can shapeshift aswell. Apart of these hints, we've seen his constant cope with animals and beings, for example with Brok's "Fucking Gratitude" or with his runic powers which are all related to animals.

Again, this is only a theory that has been running around my head, but it does make sense that Boi has some of his pop's powers. I mean, he's half-god half-giant after all, he can't just nista as his main thing.
