Why this version of the blades?

So I finally got 100% last night, and there's one thing that's always been bugging me. Why does Kratos have the Blades of Chaos in this game? Shouldn't he have the Blades of Exile? Or at the very least, the Blades of Athena? I'm happy that he does, they are the fan favorite, and my favorite as well, but I wonder if there is a lore explanation, or did they simply use them because they are the most iconic ones?

Note: The only games I've played are the 4 main ones, I haven't played any spinoffs. Is there an explanation there?

So i am using 2 enchantments that grant me a health burst on any succesful parry, so do i have to use 2 of them? like,is using 2 enchantments with the same effect increase that effect or doesn do nothing and stays the same?
