Meeting this guy was definitely on of my favorite parts of the game. I just love the idea that he’s always lurking somewhere in the background

Trial and error. Once you learn to memorize every move nothing else matters. Don’t listen to those essays people give.

God of war reminds me of my relationship with my dad

    Posted: 05 Feb 2020 08:19 AM PST

He would always teach me cool things about life and the world we even went hunting. He passed away recently I basically only have good memories of him, sometimes he would beat me though kinda sucked lmao

[Theory] The World Serpent knows Faye

    Posted: 05 Feb 2020 09:42 AM PST

When you first revive Mimir and he speaks to Jormi, he says that "he knows the pain of your loss" this has got to be a reference to the fact that Faye is his grandmother right? He didn't mean it in a way that he can relate, he meant it as in he mourned the loss of his relative too.

Do y’all think Baldur really would’ve killed Freya?

    Posted: 05 Feb 2020 10:41 AM PST

I finished my first play through not too long back and sometimes I keep wondering if he actually would've gone through with it.

When he was in Helheim, we saw that he struggled doing it in the past. Idk, part of me thinks he wouldn't have done it. But the vision in Helheim was from the past meaning maybe he lived long enough with his hatred to finally do it. What do y'all think?

Hey God of War players! I've started a server about Mythology, so far we've got 200 members. We cover a lot of pantheons, including those who Kratos visits.

    Posted: 05 Feb 2020 08:49 AM PST

First of all, sorry if this is not allowed. I could not find any rules regarding Advertisement of discord servers or any kind of advertisement. As some of you might know, most mythology servers on discord are about role-playing. As a primarily discord user, i was kind of disappointed about this and thus decided to create my own server. So far we have 200 members (and a few bots). We are starting to get daily activity and to improve the server in general. We cover these mythologies:

    -Roman

    -Greek

    -Celtic

    -Norse

    -Slavic

    -Egyptian

    -Hindu

    -Mesoamerican

    -Native-American

    -Polynesian

    -Abrahamic

    -Japanese

    -Chinese

    -Persian-Mesopotamian

Feel free to hop by. again, if this is against the rules, feel free to remove this post (or i'll do it myself if it's pointed out) Link: https://discord.gg/nr7xRnv

In Response To Kaptain Kuga's How Did Kratos Make It To Midgard

    Posted: 04 Feb 2020 09:35 PM PST

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVWSCpQB1h4

    TL;DR at the bottom.

He is taking Cory Balrog's analogy out of context. The galactic analogy metaphor was not meant to be taken as a literal, physical metaphor, but as a mental one to help illustrate the gulf between our perception of one pantheon and our perception of another, different pantheon. The boat you mention explicitly references Tyr traveling from one realm to another, not Kratos, which is verified by the fact that Kratos had no clue what realm travel was, that it existed, and how to perform it. The only context in which realms existing in different galaxies can be taken literally is solely in the relation to the 9 realms of Norse mythology, in which each realm time appears to flow at a different speed, which is what's referred to in real life physics as time dilation. Think of each Norse realm being one region of a different planet, existing in a different solar system, of a different galaxy, and time flows differently depending on the part of the universe you are currently residing in.

This also explains why each realm is so drastically different from the rest and appears to be so expansive. Muspelheim is a molten PLANET, of a different solar system, that's super close to the sun like Venus, explaining all the geothermal activity, whereas Helheim is super far away from the sun like Pluto, and that's why it's freezing cold. You can see the spatial distortion occurring between realms when Kratos, Mirmir, and Atreus jump off the world tree and fall through the cosmos itself, only to finally reach a space-time nexus connecting all the nine realms together, where have to fight creatures from various different realms who have been placed at a weird convergence point.

So you're probably wondering but what about Greece and Midgard? How did Kratos get there without traveling through space. That's quite simple. Midgard in Norse mythology has always referred to Earth, the planet where humans reside, and it's why we see humans in the game around the beginning. Remember the desperate cannibals? They are human and we see them in Midgard, with the regional location being Scandinavia, yet we don't see them ANYWHERE ELSE, except as dead spirits passing through Helheim. Greece is a country that also exists on EARTH. Greece and Midgard are located on the same planet, whereas the remaining eight realms of Norse mythology are not "realms", but locations existing on other planets, where time flows differently due to time dilation, and it's why time dilation gets made into such a big fuckin' deal. Remember the light of Alfheim? The LIGHT of the BIFROST. Traveling at LIGHT-SPEED using the Yggdrasil Tree as a power source.

TL;DR 2.0 The concept of traveling through space-time is related SOLELY to the 9 Norse realms, which are regional locations separated by galactic distances, whereas Greece and Midgard the latter of which is also known as SCANDINAVIA are both located on Earth. Thus when Kratos traveled from Greece to Midgard (Scandinavia) he need only get on a plain, regular boat, whereas when traveling from MIDGARD to Alfheim to Helheim etc, he needed a device capable of traversing space itself, because unlike Greece and Midgard which are located on the same planet, the 9 Norse Realms are not, hence why Kratos had never heard of realm travel until he reached Midgard, because up until he came to Midgard there was no need for him to know about it.

I need help on the Valkyrie Queen fight

    Posted: 04 Feb 2020 11:16 PM PST

Right now, the armor I have is the God of War tunic, fin-wraps, and underbelly-guard right now, and I'm using Talisman of Realms+

For my weapons, I'm using Tyr's Revenge and Ivaldi's Anvil for my axe, with the Wing if the Fallen+ axe pommel

I'm pretty sure the shield doesn't really matter for the changing

And lastly, for my blades, I'm using Nemean Crush and Hyperion Grapple, with the Grips if the Valkyrie+ for my pommel

For Atreus... Sorry... BOY!!! I usually use Bitter Squirrel for healing and rage, his armor is Tunic of the Champion

    Any advice?
