    GOW Theory; Kratos Is Holding Back

    So on my latest play through of GOW2018 a theory that came to me as I was playing through is that for this entire game Kratos is holding back his true power. Iv looked around and I have not found anyone else who has talked about this before and I didn't know where else to put this so here I am. So to explain myself, every fight in the game that Kratos is in he is not fighting at his full strength/potential and I have some pieces of evidence that can back this up:

    1. There is no fight in the entire game that leaves Kratos feeling damaged or winded, the only exception to this is the first Baulder fight but I feel like the only reason that takes a lot out of him is because that's the first god level fight he has had in a decade or 2 which of course being inactive for so long would leave you feeling drained after a hard workout. There are times when Kratos acknowledges that enemies are strong but at no point does he even sound worried or concerned more of a warning for Atreus which brings me to my second point

    2. Every combat encounter is simply training for Atreus. This entire game is about Atreus growing from a young boy with little skills to a hardened capable warrior who can defend himself against god level threats which is why Kratos doesn't just slaughter everything instead allows Atreus to get experience in fighting some of the worst creatures that the Norse lands have to offer and by the end of the game he succeeds. There is also one of the early GOW trailers that show them both having fought against ogres, draugers, and other creatures while in the middle of a big fight surrounded by enemies, Kratos in the middle and Atreus giving support, after killing everything you see more creatures coming up and Kratos turns to Atreus and says, "Again!" I don't think this is fair to include as ingame evidence but is still a really cool scene and shows some of the intentions of the developers. But by the end of the game Atreus is an absolute badass in the final Baulder fight and is fighting with Kratos as an equal rather than an under/lesser.

    3. There are no big boss fights other than Baulder and the Valkeries. We do not yet know if the Valkeries side quest will be a carried over as cannon with consequences into the next games or not and I know that the developers had originally planned on there being more bosses other than some trolls, some high level ogres and ancients, but I believe narratively this works because it emphasizes that nothing in this game is truly posing any sort of real threat to Kratos.

    4. Kratos is not actively trying to kill anything. We see a changed Kratos in this game, he is not the angriest man in gaming on a revenge quest that we have always seen with the ocean sized blood thirst anymore; we are seeing a man who has turned to only using violence when talking no longer works, we see this when Baulder is trying to goad Kratos into fighting by insulting him, hitting him and Kratos finally punches him and snarled to himself that he would not listen either reasoning with himself or explaining himself to an imagination of Faye (which is a theory I can post another time) But Kratos is not trying to kill Baulder here, just pacify him and force him to leave.

    These are just some of the points but I want to emphasize that this theory is only pertaining to this first game I believe that in future games there will be things that push Kratos and will force him to be serious but what do you guys think about this?

    So I'm fighting all Valkyries in GMGOW+ and I don't move on to the next one until I can comfortably beat each one with just the axe. No runics, rage, or resurrection stones. It took me about 5 hours of getting Vallhala stomped to finally get it right. Here goes: when she screams Valhalla, you dodge, as soon as the fireball hits the ground, do a dodge roll. That's it. Hope this helps someone who is struggling with her.

    Recently I've been wondering how the boss fights in the next game might look like and I remembered a couple of videos showcasing the behind the scenes of the first Baldur fight with a lot of unused assets and sequences that may make their way into the next game, Do you know if those videos are still up ?     Why do so many people think Kratos is Tyr?

    There's little to no evidence to support this theory and a long list of reasons that contradict it. I don't even think making Kratos become Tyr would be good writing seeing as it's a pretty overused trope, using time travel to make one character have multiple identities. If anyone disagrees with any of this feel free to explain why, I'm open to having a discussion.

    God of War Ragnarok needs faster combat

    The sequel needs to have faster combat. They also need to remove the threat indicator and pull the camera back so you can see all the enemies. And also how about bringing back the jump function. I hate that games have to copy dark souls. And it's not just GOW but the new Star Wars game too. I don't wanna play GOW Dark souls edition.
