GoW (4) Is, in my opinion, the best game in the franchise, every detail in the story like stop to fix atreus's quiver or showing just a little of the blades of chaos in the start shows who much love was put in the game.

When I start whatching the decumentary i was expecting to see cory barlog explaining some parts of the story and the process behind it, but i was wrong, the decumentary is about the difficulty to rewrite the story and how much the team loved and cared about Kratos. The decumentary make me feel like i was there making the game, I got the same feeling from when the game was announced on E3 and the same feeling from when I played the game for the first time.

the decumentary show me that Santa Monica really loves the community and is really cares about the consumer, a rare thing compared to other companies, if you love GoW i really recommend you to watch it, you will love it.

    Inquiring about some gear

    Posted: 22 Feb 2021 10:05 AM PST

On an old save in new game+, i managed to max out pretty much every skill but luck using the valkaries armor and some specific enchantments. the thing is? i don't remember the enchantments i used at all. If possible, drop some builds or what the best enchantments are in the comments for me.

    Really dumb mythology questions

    Posted: 22 Feb 2021 06:09 AM PST

So for one is what we see of Midgard in game the majority of it?

Also why are there dwarves kingdoms in mindgsrd I thought the dwarven realm was Niflheim.

Why is every realm in game Incan awful state?Alfheim in civil war,Niflheim irradiated,Midgard in ruin.Ironically the literal realm of volcanoes and fire seems to be the only realm doing well

Pommels/talismen with bonus for finishing moves on stunned enemies?

    Posted: 22 Feb 2021 05:54 AM PST

While playing through the beginning game I thought I saw something that granted perks (health burst I thought but idk) for performing finishing moves. Now that I'm uprgaded ( or Atreus is) that I can frequently stun enemies I cant find it anymore.....

    do these items exist?

    Thanks

Does anyone else get bored with the amount of grinding in Muspelheim and Nifilheim?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2021 07:13 PM PST

In my honest opinion, this is part of the game that really drags it down. Especially if you're like me and you're playing on GMGOW, so you actually need to play those levels to fully upgrade your gear (which means you'll have to go through them quite a few times, and that's not counting if you lose).

Don't get me wrong, at first they're both fine. Even though I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't like an actual fully explorable level with its own distinct enemies, it's own narrative side quest and boss. But I realize that would be a tremendous amount of work for the devs, so I won't knock it for that.

So yea, at first it's fine, you play through these challenges and get cool loot, you fight a Valkyrie at the end, cool. But then to fully upgrade that loot, you have to go through those same challenges again, and again, and again and again etc etc etc. It just REALLY starts to drag the game down a bit. And it's just so jarring because the rest of the game you're doing different activities, the whole world is so rich with story and narrative, and then like 75% into the game, the game STOMPS on the breaks as hard as it can, to make you go grind out some levels for 10-15 hours if you want to be properly fully maxed out by the end of the game. Honestly, it feels kind of like.... yea I'll say it... it feels like artificial padding. Which is weird because even without both Muspelheim and Nifilheim, you'll still take at least 40-50 hours to 100% everything else in the game.

Another negative aspect about these levels is that they really highlight the lack of enemy variety in the game. Like without Muspel and Nifilheim, I think the enemy variety in the game is fine. It's not amazing like Dark Souls but it's fine, all the enemies are cool enough and they suit their purpose for the narrative of the world. But then you do these levels and you constantly have to fight those same enemies over and over, and it just highlights that fact more. I think these levels would have been INFINITELY more enjoyable if they had their own distinct types of enemies and monsters. They could have even kept the grinding aspects to them, but just give us different enemies at least.

Like I said, the levels are fine at first and their fine if you do them every once in awhile, but when you get towards the end and you have to upgrade your gear to max the best gear out, you're gonna have to put some serious time in grinding those levels, especially on GMGOW difficulty.

PS: why is Nifilheim a "poison" realm when Nifilhem is supposed to be the realm of ice? Nifilheim and Muspelheim were the 2 realms that ignited the start of the universe when the heat from Muspel and the Ice from Nifilheim met inside the Ginnungungap. The fire and ice from both realms clashed and formed Ymer and Audbumbla. Through them all creation and species were made. So it's weird how Nifilheim is a poison level.

    New game+ GMGOW question

    Posted: 22 Feb 2021 07:58 AM PST

So I decided to replay GoW on ps5 and I'm doing GMGOW when I beat the main story does that give me the Spartan and unity shields? Or does that have to be on a playthrough that's not NG+

    GMGOW Question

    Posted: 22 Feb 2021 07:32 AM PST

So I am going for 100% on my NG+ right now and am playing on hard and it's seriously a joke. Level 10 and have like 500 strength and everything just falls over lol

My question is I want to go through it again on GMGOW mode since I noticed you can't change the difficulty up to it after you start, but have y'all that done it on GMGOW just gone through the story with your NG+ gear or did you need to grind some stuff again to make it doable? Also any tips would be dope :)

WHAT IS HAPPENING? I DO NOT KNOW!!!

    Posted: 22 Feb 2021 07:00 AM PST

So, kratos survived the blade of olympus... does that imply the Olympians are still alive/can return? And if not, why did he flee/go north/hide? What would he have left to run or hide from? This is still bugging me.

Also, would it be good gaming to have the next GoW take place in the same world as GoW2018? Im still reading articles about how the next game will([SUPOSEDLY]) take place/start with the remaining unvisited realms from GoW2018.

I personally believe that if there is any way the olympians and/or Asgardians can return, that being hunted by party of vengeful gods would be great gameplay and even direction for Kratos. Hes only ever faced threats head on but now flees to help keep Atreus safe, but the reason he is fleeing drives the wedge deeper between the 2 we see Atreus losing faith in Kratos and becoming spiteful of Kratos. Just a thought. I feel like Olympians(gods and/or titans) invading the north and possibly joining forces with the Asgardians to hunt the rebel god would be epic. Or maybe they make a bet on which pantheon can take him down. Thoughts?
