I hope that the Blade of Olympus comes back in God of War Ragnarok. But as a "normal" Weapon that you can level up like in God of War 2

    Posted: 26 Oct 2020 01:07 AM PDT

If Odin is Shown in the next God of War, I would love him to be voiced by Graham McTavish, he is known For Voicing Dracula in Netflix’s Dracula, playing The Cowboy in AMC’s Preacher, He voiced Zoran and Charlie in The Uncharted series, voiced Dante in Dante’s Inferno.

God of War/Star Wars theory (hear me out)

    Posted: 26 Oct 2020 09:50 AM PDT

Does anyone remember when George Lucas was making the prequels and he said something along the lines of "Star Wars is like poetry, it rhymes but it never repeats" I think Santa Monica might be going for something similar with this new series, and if I'm correct there are some predictions we can make about how Ragnarok and the subsequent game will play out. Here's my evidence/observations:

In GoW 1 Kratos has the ashes of his family bound to his body, figuratively carrying them with him forever. In GoW 2018 Kratos is literally carrying his wife's ashes throughout the whole game, this time fulfilling her wish instead of letting his family down (killing them) similar situation, different context/meaning

In both games you get a new weapon before descending into a labyrinth. In GoW 1 it's the blade of Artemis right as you enter pandora's temple. In GoW 2018 it's the blades of chaos before Tyr's vault

In both games the villain casts you into the underworld just as you're about to finish your mission, although in GoW 1 it's much closer to the end instead of a little after the half way mark.

The final confrontations with Ares and Baulder both take place in familiar locations, but not where you began the game

GoW 2 and GoW 2018 both have you interacting with a man restrained on the summit if a mountain by the chief God of that realm

And for my weakest parallel, GoW 3 and GoW 2018 both have you fighting a creature inside a mountain that you kill by breaking a protective shell on its body (the crystal scorpion and it's onyx armor/ Hreazyler's shell like skin)

If this is intentional, and the events of the Greek series and Norse series will parallel each other, I think it's possible that Ragnarok will end with Atreus leading an army of giants to Asgard the same way GoW 2 ends with Kratos leading an army of Titans up mount Olympus. In which case I think it's possible Kratos doesn't make it out of this next game alive. I'm probably way off on all accounts, but let me know if I missed any instances of the games "rhyming"

Do you think Kratos starts with Blades of Chaos in God of War Ragnarok?

    Posted: 26 Oct 2020 04:51 AM PDT

Since GoW4 avoided the potential over-powering aspect of the previous games that required Kratos to be nerfed at the start of each subsequent game by having RPG style power ups, do you think the blades of Chaos stay too?

Like I really wouldn't want him to lose them even if there's a good story reason why he would.

And if he doesn't lose them there's two questions that arise?

Does Atreus also keep all his power ups from the first game such as lightning and light arrows?

What are the NEW power ups for the two of them if the are starting out with the ones they have?

I think Atreus will get some sort of Shape-shifting power up (to match the loki lore) so that it adds a new dimension to the combat instead of just getting another Bow power.

And I think Kratos will get wings in Ragnarok. Like I think all the elements except Wind are covered and I feel aerial combat in this new play style will be awesome (and the Valkaries exist already to show its possible)

    Discussion about Atreus.

    Posted: 26 Oct 2020 05:57 AM PDT

If and how do you think Atreus hearing voices could be explored in the next game?

The reason for this happening was never really given, and it entirely seems to stop after Atreus gets told he is a god. This nearly definitely means that it's somewhat linked with his godly abilities.

My theory currently is that Atreus hearing these voices was a manifestation of his hidden godhood, and he wasn't able to control this ability and now he is.

Another point I think is worth mentioning is that we are not exactly sure where these voices come from. Initially when he hears them in Alfheim I was sure it came from the light and dark elves waging war against each other, but we later find out he heard voices before.

    What do you think?

    Freyas Revenge

    Posted: 26 Oct 2020 11:16 AM PDT

So at the end of God of War Freya vowed to curse Kratos with a pain he's never imagined.

After that Kratos said he'd let Atreus kill him if it meant that Atreus would live. What if Freya realizes this and uses this knowledge to create a killer that will for sure best Kratos? She would be a warrior that Kratos would never willingly kill.

They are tweaking the mythology to allow for Loki to be related to Kratos. They could retcon the mythos so that a revived Calliope becomes Hella the goddess of Death.

I imagine this would allow for a bunch of emotional scenes where Kratos has to tell Atreus about his true past. Maybe Calliope could harbor pure hatred for Kratos and try to continue the cycle of Gods killing their parents.

I know that in Chains of Olympus we had a scene where Kratos was able to spend his life with his dead daughter but I feel like it could be done much better in the new game. I also feel like this would make the main conflict take place between Atreus and Calliope.
