    Official Norse Timeline from God of War: Lore and Legends

    A Really Long Time Ago

    • The Burning of Freyr and the beginning of the Long War of the Gods.

    A Long Time Ago

    • Mimir arrives in the Northlands and becomes Odin's advisor.

    200 Years Ago

    • The Huldra Brothers forge Mjolnir for Thor

    175 Years Ago

    • As Thor is killing Giants and Vanir, Brok and Sindri turn on each other.

    170 Years Ago

    • Tyr arranges the meeting between Odin and The Giant Kings in Jotunheim, only for Odin to gaze upon prophecies, causing the Giants to curse Odin so that he may never return.
    • Tyr then removes the Jotunheim realm tower from the Lake of Nine, leaving one passage on top of the Mountain.

    150 Years Ago

    • Mimir arranges the wedding of Odin and Freya, ending the Long War.
    • Odin grants her the title of Queen of the Valkyries, as Freya teaches him magic.

    • Baldur is born, as Freya foresees his needless death.

    • Helheim becomes overrun with the dead and Hel-Walkers begin to seep into Midgard.

    The reason Valkyries are fun to right for me is that they are complicated single target fights. Kara is basically a shitty valk moveset with adds. It's just not a fun fight. It's not even a particularly difficult one, it's just annoying.

    Interesting tidbits and implications of God of War: Lore & Legends

    For those who don't know, this is supposed to be Atreus's journal with additional notes set a year after the game, with input from the God of War writing team.

    Preface

    Atreus couldn't sense Kratos' emotions with his abilities until the outburst at Alfheim.

    Chapter 1: Mother's Lessons (Atreus' life before the journey)

    The full "Lo,there do I see my father.." quote is mentioned.

    The Talon Bow was named due to Atreus noting the shape of a hawk to it, with the arrow as its talon.

    Atreus accidentally shot an arrow at Faye the first time he sensed the emotions of another being (a rabbit).

    Faye would be gone for days at a time after she became weaker (implying that this is when she went on the Journey).

    Chapter 2: The Journey

    Fafnir is Motsognir and Andvari's brother (and thus a Son of Ivaldi) (may have been in the game)

    Freyr is regarded as a lord by the Dark Elves as well.

    Chapter 3: Fimbulwinter (post 2018 events)

    Ice and snow dominate the landscape as the animals become restless.

    Brok and Sindri are relocating to a cave by the Lake of Nine.

    Kratos is becoming "dispirited". Mimir believes this to because of Fimbulwinter (though he doesn't know about the mural in Joutunheim).

    Mimir doesn't know is Kratos can kill Thor.

    Six wolves approached Atreus at the Wildwoods, only for them to howl at the sky

    The Lake of Nine is eventually frozen solid, as Odin locks the remaining Realm Travel Rooms.

    Hel-Walkers are becoming more organized.

    Chapter 4: Norse Lore (lore and timeline of events)

    Mimir reluctantly helped Freya to find the spell that would be used on Baldur.

    Folkvangr exists

    Odin may have seen the mural at the end of the game while speaking with the Giant Kings (he may know more than we think).

    Skadi may still be alive underneath her mountain.
