God of War Lore and Legends book

    Posted: 09 May 2021 04:48 AM PDT

Just bought this book that I didn't know existed up until a week ago, it's essentially a fleshed out version of Atreus' journal, but something that surprised me is it's expanded with the comments and feelings of an older Atreus, set after the game during Fimbulwinter. It's seemingly completely canon, since it was written with help from both Cory Barlog and other members of the writing team. It's got a bunch of other stuff like extra Mimir Stories and general lore, but it's really good so far. It's nothing earth shattering and mainly just shows how Atreus now feels about past events, but it goes into more detail about his mother and some small journeys they've been on since the game ended. For anyone who's like me and would happily liquify and inject anything GoW related, check it out.

Why does nobody in the god of war series ever learn their lesson about trying to prevent fate

    Posted: 09 May 2021 09:37 AM PDT

Everyone in the god of war series never seems to learn the lesson they are causing bad fates coming true due to the actions they are taking to prevent them.

cronos ate all of his children because he was told one of his children would turn against him. Zeus did exactly this because he ate all his siblings.

Zeus killed Kratos because he was told kratos would betray him and he ended killing Zeus because he killed kratos

Freya was told baldur would "die a needless death". Which ended up happening because he tried killing Freya because of the spell Freya put on him to prevent this

Those were some notable examples. The only person who actually defies fate is kratos and that's because he doesn't really care about fate and trying to prevent it. He just does whatever he wants. He only deals with things as the time comes. I mean he sees himself dead on the murial with Atreus. He doesn't try killing him. Then again kratos will probably just kill his way out of hellheim if he does die again like he always does lol

Would any of you happen to know, if we will be able to play the new God of War on PS4?

And are there any rumours, concerning the release month?

I think this might be some sort of secret in Tyr's Temple. Has anyone else messed with the bones and crystals?

So, what's your take on the dragons part on Ragnarok?

    Posted: 09 May 2021 08:03 AM PDT

I just watched a podcast with Cory, and he said that the dragons on the 2018 game are very important to the sequel. Kinda left me wondering why, anyone got a clue?

Is it normal for the PS4 to be loud like a jet engine when playing God Of War? I'm playing on a 5 year old PS4.

Kratos' Godly Status as of God of War 4

    Posted: 09 May 2021 10:46 AM PDT

I feel the need to bring this up because i have seen many confused people. In god of war 4 Kratos is a full god not a demi-god. In God of War 1 kratos was a demi-god but he believed himself mortal. At the end of God of War 1 kratos became the god of war and was now a full god. In God of War 2 Kratos drains all his godly power into the blade of olympus so if he loses the sword he is rendered either a mortal or a demigod(its not proven what his status was after losing the blade of olympus). fast forward to the end of God of War 2, kratos regains the blade thus making him immortal again but not a god. Fast forward even more to god of war 3 to the fight with Hades. When he kills hades he takes his soul thus regaining his godly status and he is once again a God but he doesn't have the power he once possesed in the beggining of god of war 2(yet). Once kratos kills zeus and stabs himself with the blade of olympus to release the power of hope, you can clearly see the blade of olympus fading indicating that the power is no longer in the blade. Keep in mind that the power of hope is not what powered the blade of olympus. So the blade of olympus is drained of its power which only means that kratos has regained the power he had in the beggining of god of war 2. There is also further evidence to prove that he is a god in God of War 4. In the first meeting with freya she says "I know you're a god". In the first meeting with mimir he says "he doesn't know what you are" when referring to atreus. Modi tells atreus "Come here halfbreed". and finally Kratos himself confirms his godly status when he says "I'm a god boy". I hope some of you understand now that kratos is actually a god as of god of war 4. It took me a long time to write this so i appreciate you reading this to the end.

    GoW3 Mythology Questions

    Posted: 09 May 2021 07:47 AM PDT

First time GoW player here. Wondering if anyone with a deeper knowledge either of Greek mythology or GoW lore has an answer for these questions I've been wondering about GoW3:

    1. Why does the death of Hermes release a plague? This doesn't seem related to the things he is the "God of"

    2. Why does the death of Hera cause plants to die? Same issue as #1

    3. Is there any better explanation for Athena's sudden change of heart, who sacrificed herself to save Zeus and now says he must be killed, outside of the game?

    4. So is the idea basically that throughout the GoW games, the gods are raising armies of undead to fight Kratos?
