    GoW After Norse

    Posted: 16 Mar 2021 09:52 AM PDT

Since Ragnarok is coming, the end of the Norse world will be coming. After Ragnarok and GoW 6, I think Kratos should die with the rest of the Norse gods during the event of Ragnarok. But before the Norse world is destroyed, Freya uses some of her Vanir magic to save Atreus, transporting him to the Egyptian world, Heliopolis.

Atreus is found by Isis, who raises him and teaches him magic. A decade goes by and Heliopolis is under attack by the Egyptian god of war, Set, and his armies. Proving too difficult for the gods to defeat, Atreus - now in his 20s - believes that the only way to save Heliopolis is to resurrect Kratos. Atreus learns Nephthys that after his death, Kratos wound up in the Underworld instead of Valhalla. He strikes a deal with Anubis, who allows him passage to the Underworld.

Meanwhile, in the Underworld, Kratos is approached by Osiris who tells him of the events happening in the world of the living. Kratos wants to leave the Underworld to help. Osiris tells Kratos the only way he would allow him to return to the world of the living is if he faced judgment for his actions in life. Kratos must complete trials, facing new monsters and old foes like Baldur, Ares and Zeus.

Atreus reunites with Kratos while his father is completes the trials and helps him. Osiris does not want to let Kratos return since he was supposed to face his judgment alone, but Atreus uses a spell given to him by Nephthys and Anubis that allows them to return to the world of the living. Kratos and Atreus fight Set, and after defeating him, learn that Set was being manipulated by Apep to distract the other gods so he could attack Ra.

This sets up the next game to be about Kratos helping Ra in the fight against Apep.

The game could hopefully has us play as both Kratos and Atreus, having certain points in the story where it switches back and forth but allows us to switch between the two in freeplay. Kratos could get a new weapon in the Underworld then be given the Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos by Atreus when they meet, and Atreus have his bow and maybe some magical abilities he could use?

Dad Kratos - and his character progression, are you a fan?

    Posted: 16 Mar 2021 01:31 PM PDT

I was sitting back thinking about why I enjoyed this game so much.

I became a father rather recently - and while I'm no demi-god, or a man crafted by the Gods to destroy - I found myself trying to deconstruct Kratos' progression as a character.

I feel that the most recent GOW is the best version of Kratos, and I like that there's more to Kratos than just being a killing machine.

Specifically, I think it's interesting that he's a dad that's trying to correct himself in order to set Atreus down a better path than himself. I think combined with his past, he makes a super interesting character since he's not what most would consider a hero, though not a villian either.

He's fighting the only thing he's ever known - destructive nature, to try and show Atreus that while yes, they are part Gods and are super powerful - but true strength lies in realizing your weaknesses and fixing them.

''Do not be sorry, be better''. At the time, it sounded cold and unforgiving coming from his dad, but I think Kratos is actually trying to tell him that revelling in self hatred can lead you down great paths, but will ultimately serve it's consequences.

TLDR: How do you feel about Kratos' character progression? Is he a hero? Trying to learn to be a good parent? What do you think?

    Invisible Jötunheim tower

    Posted: 15 Mar 2021 06:18 PM PDT

So on my like, 4th-5th play through, I was coming back from Buri's storeroom, and then Atreus says something about a tower, then the camera forces me to look at where the Jötunheim tower would soon be, and it's as if it's camouflaged, and then the effect goes away, I thought this was neat

You think Kratos will die in the next game?

    Posted: 16 Mar 2021 02:37 AM PDT

I mean, that's been the start to almost every game in the series so far, and why break tradition right? Have him fight Thor and get his shit rocked, BOY gets taken to Asgard and held captive as he is technically the last giant, kratos lands in Hel, fight his way out and kill that massive eagle (raven?), then fights his way through the realms to save Atreus. That's the way I see it going anyway, or maybe he'll be taken to Valhalla because they freed the valkyries, suppose that's possible. Then again, Freya is their queen and he ain't exactly on her good side at the moment.

Theory on the panels in Jotunheim

    Posted: 16 Mar 2021 03:33 AM PDT

I'm not sure if this theory has been posted yet.

My guess is that Kratos dies, but Atreus wants to break the cycle so he sacrifices himself to bring his father back to life, thus ending the cycle.

What do you think of this?
