Posted: 24 Jun 2020 05:00 AM PDT Ares didn't just give him the blades. As it is mentioned three times in the original game, Kratos was trained by Ares. "I have taught you many ways to kill a mortal, Kratos. Flesh that burns, bones that break. But to break a man's spirit is to truly destroy him". That means they must've spent time together, with Ares explaining combat techniques and such. I wish we could've seen that in a flashback, because those should be some interesting interactions. I Think I Know Why Jörmungandr is a "Sparkling Conversationalist." Posted: 23 Jun 2020 11:19 PM PDT This contains Spoilers for the end of God of War (2018) although if you haven't played it or don't know of it by now then I don't really know what to tell you. Anyways let me just jump right in to it. In the end of the game we learn that Faye wanted to name Atreus "Loki" and that it was what she called him to her people. This revelation led those of us who knew Norse Mythology to understand that Atreus being Loki meant that Jörmungandr was/ will be Atreus' son, and therefore Kratos' grandson. Now throughout the whole game there is a running joke that Kratos does not tell good stories, and to say he cannot keep up a Conversation would be an understatement. Although he does tell a good story in the end about Atreus of Sparta it is the only exception we see throughout the entire game. That being said Atreus would have raised Jörmungandr to be the type of person he would want to see in the world. Which means he would have made sure that he could speak far better than his grandfather could. TL;DR Jörmungandr is a "Sparkling Conversationalist" because Atreus did not want his son to end up like Kratos. [link] [comments]
PSA: Atreus’ attitude change is manipulation by Odin Posted: 24 Jun 2020 06:16 AM PDT Odin's presence, interference and manipulation on Kratos and Atreus' journey was only to be shown intangibly through the use of weather change/ the thunderstorms which are highlighted and made a point of each time Atreus starts acting up. Source: This is what Cory Barlog said in a podcast leading up to the title's release (I cant pinpoint exact source unfortunately as it was years ago). Anyway don't blame Atreus as he was under the influence of Odin's magic, which I believe teases just how powerful he will be in the inevitable sequel. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jun 2020 08:23 AM PDT So God of War Fallen God should be released today (June 24th) but I haven't seen anything about it anywheres. Has anyone already read them, and is it worth it? I'm not a fan of comic books, but I would really like to know what happens between 3 and 4, so I'm kinda torn on getting it. [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Jun 2020 07:28 AM PDT I'm currently trying to beat Sigrun in ng+ gmgow, I learned to dodge and counter all of her attacks except for one. She has an attack where she rushes and stabs you (which is unblockable). When she goes to the right then rushes to you, you have the warning to dodge right, but what can you do if she doesn't go to the side and just rushes you? [link] [comments]
